Dear Mr. Gerlach and the Sweet Jane's Wish Foundation,

I would like to express how incredibly thankful I am to have been selected as this year's recipient of the Sweet Jane's Wish scholarship. It means so much to me to have been selected, and even more that it was a unanimous vote. I am so honored and grateful, and I will work hard to constantly emulate the same strength and passion as Jane showed in her lifetime. In college, I will be studying biomedical engineering so that I can enter the research field and hopefully help to make a difference in peoples lives, just like the Sweet Jane's Wish Foundation is doing. You are a crucial part of that journey for me, and I cannot thank you enough.

Thank you so much,

Alie Bogusch

After graduating in 2015 from Downingtown East High School, I was able to pursue my dream of becoming a Nurse and playing Division 1 Ice Hockey in college. Sacred Heart University was my next step after graduating high school, where I was a nursing major, playing NCAA Division 1 Ice Hockey for all 4 years. The Sweet Jane’s Wish Scholarship was an award that I was honored to receive and was a hand in making all those incredible opportunities come to life throughout the last several years. After graduating from SHU, I lived in Connecticut and was a Labor and Delivery nurse to begin my career. Now, my goal of moving back to Pennsylvania to be near my family and friends has finally come true. I was able to accept a position as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Bryn Mawr Hospital, and I will start coaching a local hockey team this fall. I cannot thank this foundation enough for the experiences and places it has taken me in my life, and I will always be thankful for the incredible community I was raised in.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Gerlach and everyone at the Sweet Janes Wish Foundation,

Let me be the first to thank you for the scholarship award of $3,500 for my essay. Over the pay four years of high school, and throughout my hockey career, playing the game has been a great escape from some of the daily responsibilities and tasks I have to accomplish. Furthermore, to see someone who recognized how much ice hockey means to me is thrilling. In addition, I also want to thank your organization for the scholarship I am receiving as well as the other seniors along the years who have received your generosity. Therefore, from the bottom of my heart I would like to thank you all for everything this award has meant to me and my family.

Sincerely,

Ryan Romano

Hi!

This is a big honor and I am beyond grateful! This scholarship will be a huge help for me as I plan on attending High Point University in the fall. I will continue to work extremely hard in college and will never give up. I will face future obstacles with the same courage that Jane demonstrated in her battle with cancer.

Thank you so much! 😊

Mrs. MacKay- I will send you my senior photo as soon as it arrives... hopefully soon.
